The Hustle. What in the world am I talking about? You probably thought I meant the hustle of life or business. Nope. I’m talking about the disco dance, The Hustle. I was not the dancing queen until my 20’s and yes I was all in on the disco scene.
Fun can’t begin to describe it. I had a dance partner who could rival the all famous hustle king, John Travolta. This girl could keep up with him. I love the music of the 70’s especially when the disco ball was spinning and we were caught up in the hypnotic effect of the lights and sounds that made the walls and floor vibrate in time with the music.
Most types of dance are fun in different ways, but I have to say, disco has a beat that is one of kind. Dance, dance, dance is what I say. Move those feet, feel that beat even if you are sitting. Let the music move and transport you to another time and place. Let it grab your soul to carry you away even if for a moment.
No matter what kind of music you enjoy, sink into it with all you’ve got. Spin, twirl, jump, bump (oh that was another dance), just move, groove and be free!
