ARE YOU STUCK?

Hello all you awesome readers! Here is a true and a very funny story but the dog in question didn’t think so. And yes there is a moral to the story I think. The photo isn’t the dog but a close second.

The dog is a large German Shepherd and the story as told to me goes something like this. His name is Baus which means ‘boss’ in English. He is in charge like most of our beloved four legged friends, just ask them. As their masters, or should I say slaves, we cater to their needs and whims and adjust our lives to them. We love them dearly don’t we?

Baus is a fairly big dog and lets his displeasure be known to his owner without concern for the time of day or night. Don’t they all? If they could tell time it still wouldn’t make a difference. So on with my story of this canine.

One night his owner was sound asleep when Baus had to go potty. It was around 2:00 AM. How is a dog supposed to go potty in the house? Hopefully he wouldn’t. In any case, he didn’t start barking. He was going to take matters into his own ‘paws’ as it were. Not being present to the situation myself, his owner said there is a cat door. Now unless you have a very large cat, this German Shepherd was not going to get his somewhat massive body through the cat door.

With all his trying he stuck his head through the cat door and maybe a shoulder too. He got far enough in that he couldn’t go in either direction according to his owner who was still snoozing at the time. Poor Baus, he didn’t sound off like you would expect, but instead with a couple of boxes nearby within reach of his back legs, he started kicking and kicking still trying to get outside.

You’ve got to give him credit where credit is due since he probably, in his doggie logic, didn’t want to wake his owner up and in his own way was being mindful and respectful. Feel free to laugh, I am as I am writing this. Well, the kicking of the boxes brought his owner to life to find out what all the ruckus was about.

Baus was rescued and got to go out to do his business in the end (pun intended). Now what is the moral to this crazy dog story? As humans we frequently try to stick our head in where it doesn’t belong or try to go somewhere that we don’t fit. Yes, I am stretching it here to make a point. Keep your head about you. Carry on………
