days that are difficult and raining on me

DAYS LIKE THESE!

Days Like These is the title of a great song (of course) by Asia, a band known more in the 1980’s I believe. It’s a lively and great dance song. But let’s focus on the lyrics here.

“The sun was shining
The sky was crying
It just tore apart
And down came the rain
And I was soaking
Yeah I was freezing but,
I was feeling
No kind of pain”

It seems that it was a beautiful sunny day and then all of a sudden the sky opened up and down came the rain. Isn’t that just how life can be at times? We’re out having a great time and without a warning, life dumps on us. I’ve had that happen. Have you? Caught in the downpour without an umbrella or a cover any where in sight. How do you handle that?

I love the line that says, “I was freezing but I was feeling no kind of pain.” How do you get to that in life, when you’re caught completely off guard and no where to go and no where to hide? Perhaps the rain felt refreshing and cleansing. There are times we need to just let go and dance in the rain even if it’s not comfortable and we get soaked. Take a lesson and look at the sunny side of life even when the sun disappears.

Is that a cliche’? You bet it is, but it is true also. We often fight so hard to stay in the sunshine and avoid the rain but the rain can cleanse and be healing at the same time. In certain times we need to get the row boat out and simply float and flow with the water. Just get in the boat and let it go. Easier said than done. I would agree since in my life and years, I’ve had many occasions to try and fight the rain, fight against the current. Maybe you are being guided by life instead of being tortured by it. Have you considered that? Trust me, in the middle of the torrential downpour is not the time to analyze but to relax and let be. Flow with it.

” I took a look inside of me

And I am a sensation

Days like these I feel

Like I can change the world

Days like these I feel

Like I can change the world

It’s either easy

Or it’s impossible

But if you ain’t got it

You ain’t never gonna get it

Once you find it

You gotta grab it you gotta,

Reach down your own throat

And yank it to the surface

“I took a look inside me” yes profound words. That is where it all starts, isn’t it? Look inside when life starts to rain on your parade. If nothing else, start dancing. It will lift your spirits. The words say after that “I am a sensation” and you too are a sensation. Embrace you and know you have what it takes to get through life even without an umbrella. Know you. have what it takes to change your world. The song also says to reach down your own throat and yank it to the surface. It’s inside you; all you need is there. Just know you can have many days like these. Song link provided below. Enjoy!
